Save-A-Lot's Baby Section

So the other day I received an email about Save-a-lot's baby section and decided I would go check it out.

Here's what I found out:

1- They sell Luvs diapers for the same price as Target. Jumbos are $7.99.
2- Beechnut baby food is 5 jars for $2. That's a great price, but the selection isn't that great.
3- Tickles diapers are the same as Kmarts Little ones and almost the same as Shoppers Food Warehouse Baby Basics diapers, but they are $6.99 regular price, so no need to wait for a sale.
4- Right now Save-a-lot is having a deal where you get $5 off your purchase when you buy 3 jumbo packs of Luvs diapers and two Beechnut Baby food items.
5- They accept manufacturers coupons too.

My favorite Store for Baby Savings is BJ's

I think everyone who has a baby or a child in diapers should think about joining a club. If you already clip coupons, then BJ'S is the one for you. They are the only one that I know of that accepts coupons, plus they mail you out their own and they're really good ones usually a few dollars off products.

BJ's has formula at a savings... any brand and their own.
Diapers- their own (I wouldn't recommend them), Pampers boxes for $39.99 before any coupons (this month their is a $3 off on Pampers Baby Dry coupon in the BJ's coupon book), Luvs boxes are $29.99 (and there is frequently a $5 off coupon- you get 204 in Size 3... now that's a great price)
Baby Food in boxes with a variety of flavors depending on the stage.

And a whole lot more. Check it out sometime.

My favorite item that BJ's carries is the Pampers Cruisers with Ultra Absorbency. I buy a box of them and they last me 4 months because I only use 1 a day for nighttime with my 28 month old son. They work so much better than Huggies Overnights that it is amazing. Now thanks to Pampers and BJ's I always have a dry bed when I wake up my kiddo.

Save the labels from Beechnut Baby food and get 4 $1 coupons

I almost always buy Beech-nut baby food and for good reasons...

A. My baby seems to really like them better than Gerber.
B. They are always a little cheaper than Gerber. With Gerber you get 2 "jars" for at the cheapest $1. I get 2 jars of Beechnut for $0.46 cents each or $0.44 cents each depending on whether I buy stage 1 or stage 2. So that right there is a savings of atleast 8-12 cents per 2 jars. Now I go through about 2-3 jars a day right now, so it adds up. Plus I almost always have a coupon for Beechnut baby food and it's usually for $1 off 10 jars, so that's 10 cents off each jar.

Over the weekend I found some great deals at Old Navy on Pajamma's. They had tons of them that were long sleeved with long pants for $3.99. You've got to go see what you can find. There might have been other deals there too, but I was on a search only for PJ's for my 6-12 month old who only had two pairs before I found pairs for $3.99. The same PJ's are for sale online for $9.99 on OldNavy.com.

Free Batteries at Target or Walmart and maybe other stores too!

So last night I was searching the internet when I came accross this great coupon which states "Save $1 when you purchase any AA/AAA-4, C/D-2, 9V-1 or larger Rayovac Alkaline battery pack or any Rayovak Hearing Aid battery pack." The coupon is an internet printable one, which is my favorite, you know the kind where you can print as many copies as you want. Well, at Target these small packs of batteries are $1 in the dollar section, which is usually located at the front of the Target store. Walmart has them for between $0.94 and $1.00 depending on what store you are at. This coupon expires 2/28/09, so you have time to use it.

My hubby and I love to make iced tea, so we go through a ton of tea bags in a year. Luckily today I found a great deal on tea bags. At Target a 16 ct box of tea bags is $1.09. However I had $1 Lipton Tea coupons for Target that I got off of "A Full Cups" coupon generator. I bought 10 boxes and used $10 in coupons, so my total was $0.90 for 160 tea bags. Now I just printed out some more so I can go to another store tomorrow.

Target's Diaper deal for this coming week...

Buy 2 Super-mega Pampers for $18.99 and get a $5 giftcard. That seems to be the normal deal at Target since the diaper price increase. Not a great deal, but it is better than nothing. Assuming you buy 2 and have two $1.50 coupons that 24.18 cents for size 3 cruiser diapers. Not bad, but its better than the CVS mega deal for this week assuming you don't have any CVS coupons for $/$$.

Sunday Paper Coupons

This weeks Sunday Paper has some great coupons in it for baby products including $1.50 off Pampers diapers (expires 11/30/08) and $0.20 off any 40 ct Pampers wipes. If you use Similac, there is also a $1 coupon in the SmartSource that expires 4/30/09, so we have a lot of time to use that one. It's good for any 22 ounce powder formula!

Pampers Change-n-go

So I tried out these diapers recently and just love love love them. I can't say love enough. I was so excited when I first heard about them about 2 months ago that I couldn't wait until my package of them came in the mail. I started out small with the travel pack. I think it was like enough for 9 diaper changes, but I wasn't sure how well they would work. Well, now that I tried them I am hooked. They are so great for trips and when we go to the bowling alley for 3 hours and I need to change my 2 year old, but they have no changing table or anything. I used to have to change him in the stroller, which was a pain. Now I finally have a choice with Pampers Change and Go diapers!!! I can't wait till they come out in stores.

Here's my plan:

Buy 2 Huggies Mega packs at $12.99= $25.98

Do it in two separate transactions by buying 1 mega pack and 1 tub of wipes so I can use the CVS $2 off $10 purchase coupon that expires 9/28/08.

Use two $1.50 Huggies diaper coupons plus 2 $0.50 wipes coupons. Means I will spend $26.96 before taxes, but get $10 back. I plan to use my $10 to get a third pack of diapers for less than a dollar with all my coupons.

Sunday Paper Coupons

There was a few great coupons in Today's Sunday paper. Two of them being $3 off on any 3 Johnson's and Johnson's items. What a deal. You can get baby soaps and lotions with this coupon for half price at Target if you get the small containers they have for $2.07.

Enfamil RTF LactoseFree Formula on Clearance at Target

I just got back from Target and saw tons of RTF 32 ounce cans of Enfamil RTF LactoseFree (the purple formula) on clearance for $1.47. Now that's a steal for formula. Wish my son could use that formula, but he can't so I left the cans for someone else.

Target Deal- Johnson's and Johnson's Gift set

Target has many different J&J baby gift sets. I just bought the one that is for First Touches for $9.99 minus the $3 coupon that you can print out by clicking on the title of this posting. They had a bigger set on clearance for $12.74, which was also a pretty good deal given that the stuff in these sets is normally a lot more. Even on sale J&J products are 2 for $7 at Target right now.

Huggies Wipes Peelies now being seen at Target...

On select packages of Huggies baby wipes, there are small $0.50 peelies which are Target coupons to be used on Huggies wipes. Combine this 50 cent coupon with another 50 cent Manufacturers coupon and the fact that Huggies tubs of wipes are on sale for $1.99 and you're getting a great deal. Just over a penny per wipe. Not bad at all. This is a chance to stock up. That's what I'm going to be doing over the next few days!!

Babies R Us now giving out 20% coupons off any one item...

They come in a small booklet and you can get them from the cashier when you check out now at Babies R Us. These are great coupons to use, especially on big ticket items like cribs and dressers, etc.

The Best Deal on Diapers this week is at...

TARGET!!! They have Luvs family packs (the box) for $15 each. But if you buy 2, then you get a $5 gift card. Plus you can use two of the $2 off a Luvs box Target Internet coupon. Then if you have any manufacturers coupons like the one from last weeks newspaper, you can end up getting a box for $9.50.

In size 4, the box has 78, so that's 12.18 cents per diaper!!! What a deal!

Off to the Beach for Labor Day

I will be away this weekend, but on Monday when I return I will post some more good deals/ coupons!

Today I went to Toys R Us and they had a Britex Roundabout for $119.99. Not bad by itself, but even better when you take into account that there was a $20 off $99 or more carseat coupon in the Toys R Us deals paper, which you can pick up in the Baby section of the store.

I didn't buy it, but it was definately a steal.

All the Sunday Paper Coupons You Could Want

At the Coupon Clippers website, which can be reached by clicking on the title of this article, you can order tons of coupons including multiples of 1 coupon and they ship to you pretty quickly. The key is that you have to spend $3 on the coupons and then they charge you shipping and an administration fee. So you almost always have to spend atleast $4, but I always try to get atleast $30 worth of coupons for $4 and then I think its worth while.

If you're a parent who buys diapers, but sure to buy the Sunday Paper this week...

In this weekends Sunday paper there will be $1 off coupon for Luvs and 2- $1 off Pampers diaper coupons. I love Pampers, so I will buying a few papers to get these coupons.

Then if you can, hold off until 9/28 and use the $2 off coupons at CVS. Buy 2 jumbo pampers diapers and use the $2 off $10 purchase CVS coupon, plus your 2 $2 off coupons and diapers are on sale that week at CVS for $8.99. What a deal. That is a time to stock up if you can!!!

New Target Luvs coupons

There are two new Luvs coupons good only at Target. The best part about Target coupons is that you can combine them with manufacturers coupons for added savings. The first coupon is for $1 off Luvs diapers. The second coupon is for $2 off any Luvs box of diapers. Target sells the family pack and with these coupons plus the recent $1 and/ or $5 Luvs coupons that came from signing up for Luvs campaign to say no to paying more for pricey diapers you can get a really good deal.

Size 4 Family packs (box) sells for $15.99 for 78 diapers. So with the $2 Target coupon plus a $1 Luvs coupon you are paying $12.99 for a box. This equates to $0.1665 cents per diaper for Size 4's. It doesn't get any better than this for Brand name diapers.

Babies R Us $5 off $25 purchase coupon

Good for this weekend only, there is a $5 off $25 purchase coupon. On Friday I combined this with a 20% off any one item coupon and bought a portable crib which was normally $119.99 for $96.xx including taxes. Combining these coupons can really save you a lot of money especially on high dollar items like cribs and other baby gear. Plus when I made my purchases I got a coupon book good for early September.

Target's Weekly diaper deal... not the best, but better than paying full price!

At Target you can get a super mega pack of Huggies or Pampers for $18.99, which is the regular price around here now that the price increase has occurred. However, when you buy 2, then you get a $5 gift card, which if you figure into the price of the diapers, takes $2.50 off each pack making them $16.49. Now if you have a $1.50 coupon for each pack, it makes each pack come down to $14.99. Here's how that works out in terms of per diaper costs.

Newborn- $14.99/ 72 diapers= 0.2082 cents per diaper
Size 1- $14.99/ 82 diapers= 0.1828 cents per diaper
Size 2- $14.99/ 72 diapers= 0.2082 cents per diaper
Size 2/3- $14.99/ 58 diapers= 0.2584 cents per diaper
Size 3- $14.99/ 62 diapers= 0.2418 cents per diaper
Size 4- $14.99/ 54 diapers= 0.2776 cents per diaper

Now in my opinion this sale is not the best deal you can get, but if you need diapers you might want to take advantage of this sale by buying 2 super mega packs of diapers to get you through to the next jackpot.

Never pay full price for diapers

Ever since my first born son who is almost 2 now was about 6 months old I have never ever paid full price for a single diaper. Yet I have been able to buy the best diapers on the market (Huggies and Pampers). The key to getting a good deal on diapers is to shop sales and always have a coupon for each pack of diapers. Also, a jumbo pack is almost always the best deal if you have coupons. Another key is to always have atleast a months worth of diapers on hand incase there isn't a good sale for a while. I almost always buy atleast 5 jumbo packs of diapers per child when there is a sale. I also always have tons of $1.00 to $1.50 coupons good on diapers. Since my oldest son was born, the best sales on diapers have been at Target or CVS (with Extra Care Bucks or CVS coupons).

Doubling Coupons

Whenever a coupon from the Sunday paper is worth less than $0.99, I always take them to a store that doubles the coupon. This can increase your savings by usually $0.50 to $0.75. I say this because I have yet to see a coupon worth $0.99. In the Baltimore area, I have found that the best places to take "low" value coupons is to either Giant or Superfresh. At times, usually the beginning of the month, Superfresh will have a triple coupon week. Which is when you can sometimes get items for free or virtually free.
